River spirits: I work just above the river, trying to catch them into color, the shapeless water becoming a single shape and sound of the Esopus, the instance of the constant, they move in levity, swimming through the grotto, learning to fly, seeds in the current,  free falling leaves, anything that lands on the river and becomes for a moment the ocean
